I just finished a week-long language study with Antonio, and it was overall an amazing experience. First, a note about the accommodations – Antonio’s home is clean and comfortable, with all of the necessary amenities (wi-fi, washing machine, etc.). His house is also in a very good location: it’s close to many lovely walking paths, and is a 15-minute bus ride from Granada’s city center. Antonio is also a consummate host, and made me feel right at home. Regarding the language lessons, I have to say that this language learning experience is probably the best I’ve ever had (for reference, I have studied 11 languages in a variety of settings, and I currently work as a professor of applied linguistics). Learning Spanish at the Spanish Immersion House was for me the perfect combination of formal learning, informal learning, and personal time for reflection and processing. Antonio is a very skilled teacher - I feel that my language skills have improved quite a bit, and I'm starting to feel more comfortable and confident expressing myself and talking about a variety of topics in Spanish. I am sorry that my immersion experience has come to an end, but I’m looking forward to returning to SIH for a longer period of time! Thank you, Antonio!

My husband and I just got back from spending 5 nights/4 wonderful days with Antonio (Spanish Immersion House) and it was such a great experience for both of us! Antonio is a gracious host who made my husband (who doesn't speak Spanish) feel at home, too. The house is well laid out to ensure privacy for guests, too. It has bedrooms on two levels. We chose the first level bedroom, which is next to a private bath, living room, and kitchen. It was super convenient for me to have my lessons with Antonio, while my husband could do work on his computer. I loved the flexibility of choosing the lesson plans, which included lessons in his comfortable kitchen (with chalkboard), hikes in the neighborhood, and to the nearby bakery, and then by 11:00 we were off to do sightseeing! The location of Antonio's house has it all! We had lunch one day in the Sierra Nevada Mountains (30 min. drive), another at the picturesque beach town of "Salobreña, which has White Villages, castle, and beach (40 min. drive), and of course into Granada to visit The Alhambra (an easy 10 min. drive) and Sacramonte, Albaicín, etc. Antonio’s house was a relaxing respite after our busy days (filled to the brim!). We were delighted at the proximity of excellent restaurants in his neighborhood. We loved our meal at Los Faroles (5 min. walk) and easily could have taken more meals there with its great food, varied menu, and nice service. I only have rave reviews about our experience at Spanish Immersion House. My husband and I are already talking about when to visit again!

I loved the time I spent with Antonio expanding on my confidence in Spanish in his beautiful home near Granada. The lessons were fun and dynamic as we could incorporate the adventures I'd had with my husband in Granada the day before into the lessons. The cooking lesson (tortilla de patatas) was especially fun, learning the cooking vocabulary and the recipe, and then being able to enjoy the results over great conversation. Breakfasts were great (more than we could eat) and the bed was very comfortable. I wish I could have stayed there longer, 3 days was barely enough. But it was helpful nonetheless and I am so appreciative of Antonio and his natural ability to teach and to welcome us and make us feel comfortable in his home.

Having spent quite a number of years visiting Spain on holidays trying my best to speak " lazy spanish", I finally decided to take the plunge and dive in the deep end and immerse myself in the language.
Antonio is a perfect host with great patience for the aspiring student , structuring classes along with leisure time to visit the many attractions in the region .
Antonio made me feel at home in his beautiful house in Granada and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Spanish Immersion House ,
I would highly recommend to anyone
    muchos gracias

    Antonio,

Thank you very much for your hospitality and your effort to teach Spanish. I really liked your home and how you drove the Spanish lessons. I learned a lot. I also liked the tapas and walking around Granada. Someday I'll back.

It was an amazing experience. Highly recommended.

    Saludos

I recently had the opportunity to spend 6 days learning Spanish with Antonio at his Spanish Immersion House. I can't think of a better way to improve your Spanish! Each morning we spent 2 hours of focused Spanish learning followed by casual conversations and experiences lived through the Spanish language: shopping, sight-seeing, cooking a meal, etc. Antonio is an excellent teacher, a wonderful host and a great cook! The house is spacious and comfortable, close to lovely trails and minutes by bus to the old city of Granada including La Alhambra. I hope to return someday as I continue to improve my Spanish. Thanks Antonio!
